At the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, there's a wonderful
exhibit on a great many aspects of the DOG -- and much of the exhibit is available online,
ready for you and your family to enjoy. There are sections on dog evolution and
genetics, but also pages about dogs helping people, including service and therapy dogs.
Working dog fanciers will especially enjoy the Form and Function section, and there
is a thorough look at the sources of working dog endurance.

Dog behaviors addressed including such
things as bite inhibition and the command "watch me" to increase your dog's
attentiveness. There is emphasis on teaching dogs the right cue commands. For beginning
owners, there are the basics including getting your puppy used to being touched from head
to tail. Even long-time dog owners and trainers will find the book of interest, and
may find it a good book to recommend to new puppy owners.
