Police praise their canine partners
GERMAN SHEPHERDS LALI, FAX PROVE THEIR SKILLS

To increase the safety of public schools, communities like these in Massachusetts are starting zero-tolerance drug programs -- and police officers with their well trained dogs are critical to the success of these efforts. Police officers and their dogs must complete 400 hours of training in order to serve in the program.

Among the K9s and their human partners are Lali and Sgt. Timothy Kelly, Fax and  Detective David Connell, and Rex and Officer Walter Marcinkewich.  In several cases, the dogs are also members of the officers' families, strengthening the bonds between the human and canine partners.
